 Title:

Indian Wedding, Tamil Matrimony

Background:

Hindu wedding is thought to be the bringing of two people who are said to be compatible. Hindu wedding ceremonies are traditionally conducted at least partially in Sanskrit, the language of most holy Hindu ceremonies. The local language of the people involved is also used since most Hindus do not understand Sanskrit. They have many rituals that have evolved since traditional times and differ in many ways from the modern western wedding ceremony and also among the different regions, families, and castes such as Rajput weddings and Iyer weddings. The Hindus attach a lot of importance to marriages, and the ceremonies are very colorful and extend for several days.

Problem Identification:

As the world evolves, the cultures and rituals are not performed and heritage in proper. Some rituals are being ignored as they don’t see the meaning behind it and the purpose of it.  A proper explanation and meaning behind of every rituals and ceremony are given in order for good cultures, family values, emotions and traditions and cultural ethics to be heritage for future generations. Besides that, a ceremony with proper explanation will be done with good emotions and happiness.

Aim and objectives:

·         To provoke the good elements of an Indian wedding and the way it changes the perceptions of an Indian wedding.

·         To cultivate the cultural essence behind an Indian wedding.

·         To give explanation behind every ceremony and rituals those have been done.

·         To give a better understanding of the Indian matrimony.

Motivation:

I am an Indian and I am sad to say that I myself don’t know about Indian wedding and its rituals in the proper way. Sometimes, we just follow what the elderly says without knowing the purpose and reasons behind. I would give enhance my knowledge in this and also share with the others about our own cultural and rituals.

Ideation and concept:

Create an interactive application of Indian wedding with illustrations and all the information in not so boring or common way. The interaction application will be a video base and has sensory features that will allow users to interact with it while watching the ceremony itself. In the same time, it will allow them to read the information given about each and every rituals happening on the video.

Proposal Two

Title:

Having fun in exercising?

Background:

Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health or wellness. It is performed for various reasons. These include strengthening muscles and the cardiovascular system, honing athletic skills, weight loss or maintenance and for enjoyment. Frequent and regular physical exercise boosts the immune system, and helps prevent the "diseases of affluence" such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes and obesity. It also improves mental health, helps prevent depression, helps to promote or maintain positive self-esteem, and can even augment an individual's sex appeal or body image, which again is also linked with higher levels of self-esteem. Childhood obesity is a growing global concern and physical exercise may help decrease the effects of childhood obesity in developed countries.


Problem Identification:

Physical exercise is important for maintaining physical fitness and can contribute positively to maintaining a healthy weight, building and maintaining healthy bone density, muscle strength, and joint mobility, promoting physiological well-being, reducing surgical risks, and strengthening the immune system. As the world spins faster, people get busier with their lives and no one has time and really gets the “fun” of exercising. They have to realize the important of exercising and the benefits from it and in the same time enjoys doing it as a routine of daily live.

Aim and objectives:

• To encourage physical exercise to youths and elder citizens in a more fun away.
• To promote the benefits of each type of exercise while they exercising itself.
• To practice a healthy lifestyle.
• To motivate the habit of exercising in a different way.

Motivation:

Being obese is a serious problem. It can cause heart attack and prune to other diseases as well. As I observe, I myself have not practice the proper healthy lifestyle for a long time due to time and interest. On the other hand, my family back at home also has the same problem where they don’t find interest in exercising as there is no fun in it. So, this is where I am came up with a solution where everyone without age limit can do it!

Title:

Music – The beat of it!

Background:

Music is an art form whose medium is sound. Common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. The word derives from Greek μουσική(mousike), "(art) of the Muses."

The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition vary according to culture and social context. Music ranges from strictly organized compositions (and their recreation in performance), through improvisational music to electronic forms. Music can be divided into genres and subgenres, although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to individual interpretation, and occasionally controversial. Within "the arts," music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art, and auditory art. There is also a strong connection between music and mathematics.

Problem Identification:

Music has been everybody’s passion for ages. Different genres and subgenres have kept people activated throughout years without knowing the story behind its creation and it’s subtle. People not only listen to it but they live with it as it makes their life as a complete circle. How does it can be so manipulative to people’s life and how does it provokes people’s feelings and emotions towards it. 


Aim and objectives:

•   To create a better understanding between human and music.
•  To worship the elements of a creation of music and its history.
•   To know the culture and the social context for each type for music.
•   To know the bit connection between music and mathematics.

Motivation:

Music has been my passion too since childhood, as I love to listen to songs and dance for it. I have been always wanted to know more the creation of music and its history behind it. Besides that, I also inspired to know more about musical instruments particularly on traditional ones.

Ideation and Concept:

My idea was to create an application that associate with almost all the musical instruments. A sensory touch will be on the musical instruments (replica) which after being touched will play its history, its music and its famous player on the screen.
